Welcome to Birdie! I’m happy you’re here!

I’m Ellen, a Registered Social Worker (MSW, RSW) with a clinical specialization in child & adolescent mental health. I am experienced in working with children, youth, young adults, and families who are impacted by trauma, grief, loss, anxiety, depression, obsessions and compulsions, low self-esteem, and identity struggles related to sexuality, culture, or disability.

I worked within the school system for several years, supporting the mental health of neurotypical and neurodiverse students and assisting young adults and families navigate life’s transitions. My passion for continued learning has recently been fulfilled by completing trainings in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotion-Focused Family Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Theraplay (attachment-based intervention), and Advanced Theory and Techniques in Play Therapy.

I am conversationally fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and am passionate about accessible, person-centered mental health care for all. I welcome your story and look forward to meeting you and/or your child!
